| That is what I am going to do. I think I am going to see if they will let me start working out again. I hope so. If so, I can start exercising with my brother or go to the health club and get a membership. |

Hey,man, working out and walking and doing cardio is the ultimate best thing you can possibly do for both your physical self AND your soul. I am a weightlifter/bodybuilder and a personal trainer (believe it or not ). Fitness is the most foremost thing in my life and it has changed my life. 15 years ago I weighed 430 pounds and was diabetic. 15 years later im a very fit and buff lifter at 300 pounds who positively gives working out and cardio the credit fo me being alive today. My situation is different that yours for sure, but its been proven that a healthy lifestyle will heal you both body and mind. If you EVER have any questions about health, training or diet (not that mines the best, obviously..hehe ) please dont hesitate to ask. GOOD LUCK AND REMEMBER TO JUST KEEP GOING!!! Peace!!!! Jim. |

| Well, Jim, I used to work out also. It just depends on what the doctors tell me I can do, not a matter of whether I want to. I already miss it. I stopped exercising last August because I had to. I have to get back to what I was doing if they will let me. |

Got excellent news from the docs yesterday. I can start working out again. They actually said that it would help to strengthen the fistula. |

| Yeah, I did leg extensions and leg curls, too, but they didn't get me like the lunges did. |

Good for you Gman, walking is the best you can do as it's less stress on joints, organs and everything else..water aerobics is fantastic also. |

| I have no plans on injury. Believe me when I tell you I started/will continue at a slow pace. The last thing I want is more injuries. |

I doubt that. The reason those guys are so fast is thst they run from lions! I'd run fast then, too. |

I just gotta tell you this, what you just said here reminds of a story that a good friend told to me years ago over a few beers and one of my excellent grilled meals. He was a graduate student then pursuing a major that I now have forgotten. He was sent by his University to someplace in Africa in the early 1970's.
When he finally arrived at his destination, by a tiny outback plane that landed on a dirt airstrip there, in the middle of absolutely nowhere in Africa, he found the Land Rover and map that was left for him there that would guide him to his ultimate destination. He then proceeded to drive the Land Rover to that place on his map.
This young white American guy was driving along an African dirt/mud road when he came upon two African men, wearing loinclothes, carrying spears who were hitch-hiking.
My friend "freaked out" at first when he saw them, then thought better of it and went back to give them a ride to what was their home along the way to his final destination. He could not communicate with them verbally then, but they understood that he was good and would help them. |

Whoa Kitten,
Ohio Sweet Corn is the one thing that I can claim Ohio does better than anyone else, anywhere! The corn stalks will be "knee-high on the 4th of July" and our very tender corn will be "ready" to eat in late July, August and September. Everything depends on the weather of course. But an average season brings us the "best of the best" grown locally for about two months.
I am not saying that good corn on the cob is not available from other places, I am saying that the best Sweet Corn originates from Ohio when it is available, maybe the best hails from just South of Lake Erie where I live. It may be a "climate" thing, but I always eat my share! Yum....Some Northern Ohio Corn Cobs along with fresh caught Perch from Lake Erie...... |

Ahh...Sez you Alfalfa!
Speaking of good food, tonight I grilled some fresh/wild Pacific N.W. Coho Salmon and it was excellent. Damn Salmon around here costs an arm and a leg even if it is farm raised Atlantic Salmon. I got the Coho at Trader Joe's for $9.99/pound, amazing. |
