A homemade fish sandwich on a home cooked bun, peas that I froze last summer along with mushrooms, cilantro, black pepper and butter. Also a homemade salad and some "experimental" onion rings from my local Grocery.

By "experimental" onion rings, I mean that my Grocer now has bags of "sliced", not diced, rings available under their own Name and that I will be giving them a "test run" tonight!

Life is good.

Deep subject! The meal had to be postponed until tonight (Sunday) due to a lack of electricity here. My area went without power for 5 or 6 hours then, it was late, I was starving, so I drove to a Tavern and had a corned beef sandwich and a glass of draft beer (or two). I was glad I did because the power was still off when I got home.

Life is good.

I finally had my fish sandwich and onion ring meal. The prepared frozen rings were good! I actually like a McDonald's fish sandwich, but only in a pinch. I made mine like they make theirs but using much better ingredients. It was very good.

Today I baked a sirloin tip roast along with potatoes and small whole onions for my main course with a salad, peas and a warm roll. Yum. I have enough leftovers for lunch to complete my work week now.

Life is good.

Gregg, if you like to make your own "egg rolls" or "springrolls", or have a vendor that does them good carryout. Look for a bottle of "Sweet Hot Sauce" to dip them in. Your grocer might have it in the "Asian" section. Failing that you can find it at an Asian Grocery Store. "Sweet Hot Sauce" is my favorite dipping sauce, especially for eggrolls and springrolls!

I make a sweet and sour sauce for springrolls when I make them.

Last night, it was burgers, a salad and some cauliflower. Tonight it is chef's salad with crusty bread. I bought chicken, avacado, bacon (low sodium), tomatoes, green onions, a couple kinds of lettuce. I think I will put some hard boiled egg and a little bit of shredded cheese (can't have too much)

I "closed" Thursday night at work and I have to "open" Friday morning so I am having a quick homemade "egg salad sandwich" on a Kaiser roll (I always keep some hard boiled eggs ready), a simple salad and some more peas I froze and saved from the summer.

Amazingly, I am still eating tomatoes that I saved from the fall before first frost when they were hard and green. I have enough of them to last for around another month or longer if I treat them right.

Life is good.

I have been getting fresh eggs from a farmer about 20 miles from town. 75 cents a dozen, and lately, they have been double yolkers.

I used to have a fresh egg vendor that supplied good eggs with many double yolkers, she was known as "The Egg Lady" (her real name was Mary Gotterscham). She is gone now and apparently her family has not continued on in her tradition.

Fresh eggs are best eggs, I wish I had a current source for them.

I got off of work early today, yippee! So I hit the grocery and will dine on this tonight: Chimichangas filled with grilled chicken, grilled Chorizo, peppers and cheese. The sides/toppings will be black beans, rice, chips, salsa and guacamole (lots of guac).

I am now grilling the chicken and chorizo slowly outdoors, while the rice is cooking indoors. I am about to take a break from here and make the salsa, then I will make the guacamole. The only thing not made from scratch by me will be the Goya black beans. I have made this meal before and it is very nice. I will have to learn how to make the beans from scratch too!

Life is good.

Sunday evening the 12th. I have been raking and dragging heavy wet leaves to the street for hours now; over ten 9'x12' tarp loads of leaves. Then I fired up my mulching mower and mulch "bagged" my entire yard for good measure and dumped the results with the leaves on the street. Pickup is tomorrow!

I now realize that I had no dinner plan ready for tonight, but after a quick check of my fridge I will make an egg salad sandwich on a Kaiser roll, fresh frozen peas and a salad topped with black pepper, kalamari olives, feta cheese, olive oil and balsamic vineger.

Life is good.

Sounds good Gregg!

Tonight, my Mom and Me took my "Ex-Sister In Law" out to dinner for her Birthday, at her "Restaurant of choice". She chose "Long Horn Steakehouse". Not bad, but I could easily do this meal way cheaper and better at home! I have been eating fish and chicken for a long time now too, so a "red meat" dish is kind of nice for me!

Life is good.

Breakfast for dinner is a favorite meal of mine!

I did a "changeup" tonight and I am having an egg salad sandwich with a lot of diced Vidalia onion in the mix on a kaiser roll, along with a homemade salad full of kalimaris, topped with feta and then an olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing.

Life is good.

Last night (the 17th) I made a huge salad of so many things it would take too long to list! But I topped it with "Maytag Bleu Cheese" chunks and a "Creamy Bleu Cheese Dressing" that I love. Alongside was a warm "fresh cooked" sourdough loaf of bread.

Tonight I "closed" the store and left at 10:00pm. Tomorrow, Saturday (the 18th) I have to "open" the store at 7:00am. I picked up a "Whopper" with cheese on the way home!

Life is good.

The Buckeyes beating Michigan is our "calling" here in Ohio, no matter how we stand overall, as I am sure that you know. Then top that with an undefeated season for the Bucks? Then winning "The Game"? Magic has prevailed! And that Pizza never tasted better Dude!
